Cedar Door
Patio Bar & Grill

A HOMEGROWN HANGOUT
THAT'S TRULY AUSTIN

Enjoy gathering with friends at Austin's local favorite, the Cedar Door. Situated in downtown Austin within walking distance of the Austin Convention Center, Congress Ave. Bridge for bat watching, Lady Bird Lake, Rainey Street and Austin's best hotels. The relaxed patio bar and restaurant is a casual neighborhood hangout, perfect for cocktails and dining amidst the towering downtown Austin high-rises. Locals and visitors flock to the patio bar on sunny afternoons and evenings to enjoy sipping on longnecks and Mexican Martinis while watching their favorite team on large screen TVs on the expansive outdoor deck.

Known as Austin's "moveable landmark," the nomadic Cedar Door has a storied history that has more twists and turns than a corkscrew, including four moves (literally) of the cottage house bar to locations around the city. Patrons and staff enjoy sharing stories and memories from each re-incarnation and have been loyal supporters over the Cedar Door's 40-year history in Austin. The antique Irish bar remains the focal point in the cozy main bar where guests are welcomed by some of the friendliest bar staff in town.
Many stories, traditions, and folklore give the Cedar Door it's colorful history, including being the host bar for the Annual Spam-O-Rama festival back in the early 90s. Two volumes of Texas Law were written on cocktail napkins. A popular spot for local reporters and politicos, the history of the bar is undoubtedly one of its most endearing qualities.
