Tackling Guest’s Dietary Restrictions
Posted on 04.01.2017 / by Cedar Door
Now a days many people have some kind of dietary restriction. Whether it be by choice, or not, meeting these needs of your event guests can sometimes prove to be challenging. We are here to help!! Being located in downtown Austin, Cedar Door hosts private events with people from all over the country and the world! We keep our options up and your bellies full.
Here are three ways to help meet all your guest’s dietary restrictions.
- Choose a variety of options. Make sure your buffet spread is fully of yummy choices! Meat, veggie, vegan, gluten free, etc. A good rule of thumb is 60% meat options and 40% other options. This ensures to hit everyone’s taste buds and always makes a gorgeous rainbow of colors on your buffet setup.
- Ask for changes to a current option. Take the bacon off those stuffed mushrooms (they are still the bees knees) and now that option is vegetarian. Take the cheese off that salad, now it’s vegan. Remove the tortilla strips from that soup, now it’s gluten free. Usually there are very easy changes that the venue can make to certain items that can really open up your options to all your guests!
- Add dietary restrictions to your RSVP. If you are planning on doing a more formal dinner buffet as opposed to heavy appetizers, a space on their RSVP should be dedicated to dietary restrictions. Since the options are usually fewer when you take this option, you want to make sure you have enough options for these guests without them resulting in eating sides and salad only. Your guests will feel like their feelings and needs are heard, which always makes you the best host 🙂
You won’t be able to meet every single person’s needs at your event, but with these easy steps you should be able to delight all their senses with a diverse buffet.
